Sportmediaset journalist states Milan considering €10m offer for Vlahovic: “Not currently open”

The pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic is going to be a difficult one to finalise for AC Milan, it seems. However, it is not impossible.

Different options are possible for Vlahovic, which is always nice. Flexibility has never hurt anyone in the mercato. However, good flexibility is a must. In other words, despite a swap and standard transfer being possible, they have to be viable.

So, there are a few different players that Milan can offer up for Vlahovic, and each of them has a different price and/or position. In other words, depending on the Bianconeri’s asking price and needs in the mercato themselves, the Rossoneri can adjust.

First attempt

Today, the first attempt has been considered, and it would involve a fee and a player, rather than just one or the other. As Orazio Occomando, the Sportmediaset journalist, reports, it involves no longer Saudi Arabia-bound midfielder Ismael Bennacer, which has been relayed by MilanNews.

“Milan’s idea to get Vlahovic: €10M+, plus Ismael Bennacer valued between €10-15M. Juventus are not currently open to this option.”

  1. Since Milan is ready to make an offer to Juventus for Vlahovic, I’d assume they have an agreement with the player to significantly lower his ridiculous salary, which is the biggest sticking point. In that case, just give them 20 million and stop wasting everyone’s time by trying to include deadweight that no one wants.

    1. Or, if we’re helping Juventus get out of a situation they don’t want then we use it to our advantage to get out of one we don’t want.

      1. How are you helping Juventus by buying one of the best strikers in the league at 25 years old for a quarter of what they paid for him.
Vlahovic has absolutely not lived up to the fee and salary Juventus paid for him, but that doesn’t mean that he is still not one of the best strikers in the league.
Milan will not find another striker with his qualities for 20-25 mil. They paid more for a lesser striker in January.
The players that Juventus with want in return, Milan doesn’t want out, and the ones Milan want out, Juventus don’t want, especially not Bennacer.

        1. Why are Juventus considering paying up a portion of his salary just to get rid of him? Because he’s a decent player but not worth the 24M in salary that they owe him for this year.

They want to cover his amortisation value which is around 14M on the books and they may consider taking some of Milan’s assets with a lower annual cost to accomplish it.

And, it being Juventus, they might take an opportunity to make a fake higher value ‘sale’ that comes with a swap in order to help with FFP.

Basically, Vlahovic will cost them about 38M to keep this season and if they can swap that for something like 8-9M per year for Bennacer, 11-13M per year for Chukwueze or 4-5M per year for Adli (and the book value they would have) they may well take it.

          1. This article and my comment was about Bennacer being included, not Adli or Chukwueze.
Juventus won’t be saving much by taking back a useless player on a high salary, for Serie A terms, who plays in a position where they have at least 2 other useless players on high salaries in Artur and Douglas Luiz.
Also, Bennacer has 1 more year on his contract than Vlahovic.
So where are this savings for Juventus?
They’d be better off keeping and using Vlahovic this season to help them achieve their goals and then losing him for nothing than selling him to one of your biggest rivals and strengthening them, for 10 mil plus 2 more years of a player they don’t want or need.

          2. Reply to Z

If they took Bennacer on a 3yr contract paying his current 7M gross salary or something close with an official sale value of 12M then it would cost them 11M per year.

Vlahovic will cost them 23M this year in salary alone. If they don’t make a sale, they’ll also lose 14M in book value on amortisation. So he will cost them 37M this season to keep him.

And if you’re thinking “but that will cost them extra money over the next few years” then yes, it would, but those sorts of deals are common on year to year accounting and trying to get under FFP per season limits.

If you’re Juventus and this was the only deal you can get, you probably try for a player with better usable and resale value than Bennacer, Chukwueze would be an alternative that Milan would also like to salary dump but would be a big per year saving for Juventus.

          3. There’s al lot of talk about potential trade-offs for Juventus regarding Vlahovic. From what iknow, , the only player Juventus would be interested in is Saelemaekers. But Milan, for obvious reasons, won ‘t let Saelemaekers go.
            @86_longo

As I said, the deadweight you want to send to Juventus, they don’t want. They want players that Milan doesn’t want to lose.

          1. Helping Juventus would mean taking a player you don’t need or want.
Juventus taking bum ass Bennacer would be considered helping, because they don’t need nor want, plus they already have 2 players like Bennacer (Artur- Douglas Luiz) who they can’t get rid off.
If Vlahovic stays he is deadweight for them? Really? Let’s look at numbers.
Vlahovic had 22 goal contributions last season for Juventus in 2700 minutes playing for a coach he didn’t get along with. Just for comparison, the player that some delusional Milan fans think that is worth 120 m, Rafael Leao had 25 goal contributions last season in 3500 minutes. Thats makes Vlahovic more productive than Leao. Does that by default makes Leao a deadweight? 🤔
Milan needs a striker. They only have 1 striker in the squad and he is nothing to write home about.
            Milan wants Vlahovic.
Milan called Juventus because Allegri wants Vlahovic, it wasn’t the other way around.
Juventus would rather sell Vlahovic outside of Italy not to Milan.
So again, how is Milan helping Juventus?
You would be getting a 25 year old striker for around 20 m. That’s taking advantage of Juventus, not helping them.

  2. Get a Dutch young striker is a better option. Milan have great results in Dutch players
    Spend the money wisely

      1. We’ve made many questionable/ bad signings in recent times but I honestly believe we’re judging Gimenez too quickly. Think he could be a solid goalscorer, like 15+ in the league. I could be wrong, we’ll see this year.

        1. Gimenez’s goal scoring ratio was actually quite good for us, so I don’t know what people are talking about. Give him another season, then judge.

  3. I think vlahovic will sold this mercato coz juve won’t pay him 12m salary ( contract clause in his last year ). Or juve must find out another buyer from Arab with their huge offer.

  4. STOP helping Juventus for f*cks sake. His is expensive deadweight for them, let it stay that way.

He is an average attacker and a partyboy they say in Torino.

We have gimenez as our main attacker.

    We really don’t need him.

    1. “We have gimenez as our main attacker. ”
We have Giménez as our ONLY attacker, we need another striker, bet it Vlahović or someone else.

      1. Both statement are correct, IMO.
Of cource we need another attacker, as Giménez as our ONLY attacker, but Vlahovic is way too expensive salary wise.

  5. IDK, all our recent signings from zebras were terrible af. Even Jovic was better than Higuain. Sign someone else. At this point, it feels like bringing back Cutrone is less risky than chasing Vlahovic.
