SportsLens: Milan show interest in Chelsea target ahead of transfer window

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are interested in Chelsea target Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to be a major player in the summer transfer window.

As has been reported by Sports Lens, the Rossoneri are very interested in the Swedish striker who has been scoring plenty of goals in his first season playing for Sporting CP in Portugal.

Gyokeres came close to being a Premier League player last season when his Coventry City side made it to the Championship play-off final. They did not manage to win the game, and he then moved to Sporting as he would clearly far better than a Championship level striker.

Both Chelsea and Milan are known to be searching for a striker this summer. Milan may be without Olivier Giroud if a new contract is not agreed, but even if he stays, a new and younger striker is needed.

Gyokeres is one of many targets, but he has got a massive £86m release clause, but it may be fair when you consider he has scored 30 goals in 33 games since joining Sporting.

Chelsea will be a tough side to battle against from a financial perspective, but they could end up plumping for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen instead which would give Milan a better shot at Gyokeres.

  1. Why even print a non story? Milan aren’t going to sign a player from such a crap league. Tell me the last world class striker to come from Portugal? Ronaldo developed in the EPL.o

  2. Gyökeres would be just amazing but if we don’t get either more money or a new owner who is willing to spend, this is not happening.
