Spurs join Arsenal and Milan in race to land Paris Saint-Germain defender – report

Tottenham and Arsenal are both in the race to land Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva, a report claims.

The Brazilian’s deal is set to expire at the end of the month and there is no sign of an imminent renewal with the Ligue 1 side, meaning he will be free to join another club, with Milan repeatedly linked.

Le10Sport recently reported that PSG offered Thiago Silva a salary of between €4-5million on a two-year deal, three times less than what he is currently earning.

He instantly refused believing he can earn more elsewhere, but now Thiago could reflect in the coming days and reconsider the offer, but Arsenal, Milan, Manchester United and Everton were mentioned as having interest.

According to The Sun however, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing the 35-yer-old, though his current wages are a stumbling block while Arsenal and Everton are also credited with interest.

The defender revealed over the weekend that he wants to stay in Europe, stating: “Everyone knows the affection I have for Fluminense. But I still have goals to reach in Europe.”
