AC Milan are in talks with Spurs about a potential loan move for defender Japhet Tanganga with a decision to be made on his future after the weekend, a report claims.
According to a report from the BBC, Tanganga is expected to play in the away game for Tottenham against Chelsea on Sunday, but then a ‘decision on his short-term future’ should arrive, implying that a loan is very much being considered by their management.
Tanganga – an England U21 international just like Fikayo Tomori was – has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season and played the full 90 minutes as Spurs came from behind twice to seal a dramatic 3-1 win against Leicester City. He is under contract until 2025.
Argentine defender Cristian Romero is close to recovering from a hamstring injury which should bump Tangnaga down one in the pecking order, potentially facilitating a loan switch to Milan.

OK Lampard was not really a defender so it’s understandable as to why he let Tomori go. Conte too wasn’t a defender I guess but if this guy can’t get into Conte’s team then he’s probably not a top defender. Maybe he’s decent but not a top defender. That’s an argument I made against Tomori when we wanted to sign him cuz I really wanted Simakan or Todibo. In hindsight, it was a foolish argument.
