AC Milan must sign two new starting full-backs this summer, and the budget for both positions has reportedly emerged.
There is just over one month until the first competitive game of the season in the Coppa Italia against Bari (17 August), and Massimiliano Allegri still finds himself without a starting full-back to work with at Milanello.

It looked like Theo Hernandez’s replacement would be Archie Brown until the Englishman changed his mind on Friday night, convinced by the big contract offered by Fenerbahçe. On the right side, Guela Doue has been most insistently linked, but Strasbourg have set a high price.

La Repubblica (via MilanNews) report this morning that Milan are working to secure the two missing full-backs this week before the team leave for Singapore on Saturday. It will not be easy, but the sporting director Igli Tare hopes to have good news for Allegri.
The paper adds that the first name on the list for the left-back role is now Miguel Gutierrez of Girona, while the preferred right-back is Marc Pubill of Almeria. The budget available (combined) for both signings is expected to be no more than €35m, so it remains to be seen if that is enough.

You do know that Furlani doesn’t identify targets, right? Furlani isn’t a football man. Cardinale isn’t a football man. The people responsible for the squad are Tare, Allegri and Moncada, Ted.
My view is that if they only have 35M for two fullbacks, they should focus on LB. On the right we have Jimenez, Saelemaekers and Royal. While none of these guys are the second coming of Cafu or Tassotti, they’re all at least serviceable. Meanwhile, we have ZERO first team level LBs. We should spend 25M on a starting LB, and 10M on a decent backup LB, and then we can manage at RB until 2026, with only Serie A to deal with. Instead, most of the names we’ve been linked with are RBs, of which we already have three. It’s crazy.
Jimenez is bad defensively. Saelemaekers will be used as a backup to either Leao or Puli. Royal is garbage…
Like I said, not ideal, but its three players than can play the position. Name a single player that isn’t Bartesaghi and isn’t a converted RB or CM that can play LB? Not one. Jimenez is bad defensively? How did he displace Kyle “World Class RB” Walker from the starting lineup? Also, did you speak to Allegri? Sure Salad can play higher up, but his natural position is wingback, which is a lot closer to RB than RW. We also still have the problem of Okafor and Chukwueze still being on the books. Yes, Royal is not great, but again, he’s better than playing an RB or a midfielder at LB. What I’m saying is, that when push comes to shove, we can lineup with Saelemaekers, Jimenez or Royal at RB, and we have ZERO LBs on the squad, and even when he had Theo, there was no decent backup. After Jashari or whoever is arriving in midfield, LB should obsessively by the next priority, if at least one.

I am an echo in my comments. Why not play back 3? Have 4 CB and Bartesaghi. Alex and Alexis more suitable for WB. Tomori R Pavlovic L thiaw Gabbia central. Rotation of Ricci Modric and Fofana central MF. Puli Rafa Santi at the top.

Thats a steal for all 4 players. Cant believe they arent pulling the trigger yet. Also they could easily just dump Jashari and go for Guerra in Valencia for 25 mil and use those extra 10 mil on Doue if they want him so badly.
Every day we’re linked with someone different. There is no clear strategy. Tare isn’t doing anything different to Moncada. The brief was supposed to be sign Italian players, not more randos.
How is this even a problem? Barteshagi plays LB, Saelemaekers RB then they can sign someone for rotation – MIranda (Bologna) or Fortini (Fiorentina).
I don’t know if the issue here is Tare or Allegri, but the targets are garbage, always random Eurotrash.
More absolute nonsense, 35M is just a made up number. What if one guy wants 3M a year and one wants 6M? One wants a 1M signing bonus and one wants 4M?
The fee is one part of the expense but as always it’s how much their annual cost would be on the budget sheet that Tare will work with, not an arbitrary 35M figure that means nothing in isolation.

Rat furlani does not seem to know but in the fifth division of the brazilian league there are 2 full backs who milan should buy – one is called Paulinzinho age 40 costs €0.25 million and the other is called Branzelinho age 39 costs €0.20 million. They just want €500 per month as salary.
