Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri arrived at AC Milan in the same summer, yet it feels like the pair have been working together for much longer.
Hiring a new manager and sporting director in the same period can be a risk. After all, the two need to align quickly and ensure that they have the right tools available for the other to succeed. Of course, their visions also need to be the same.

It is pointless hiring a big-budget manager with a director who specialises in small-budget environments. Thankfully, that has not been the case with the Allegri-Tare combination.
Allegri-Tare axis flying
In the summer, the two recruited smartly, with both’s strengths coming into play. Allegri eventually got Adrien Rabiot, which was his big desire for the mercato, whilst Tare transformed the team as a whole, tightening the group.
Though it is not just the group which has become tighter-knit. As La Repubblica, via MilanPress, writes, the duo are closer than ever, and their relationship at the helm of Milan is concrete.
Together, their vision for the Rossoneri is aligned, with them sharing ‘every step’ together. So much so that their plans are shared, they want to renew Rafael Leao’s contract before turning to Dusan Vlahovic in the summer.

who would have thought?!
pros in charge vs chimps with egos…
And with their help in the summer we will actually have a complete squad:
Gimenez -> Kean/Vlahovic
Odogu -> Gila
RLC -> a regista and Bondo return
no holes, no lack of quality; just pure high caliber team!
A regista?
Why would Milan needs a regista when they have Jashari, plus Modric probably staying?
What position does Bondo play? Isn’t he a regista? So you would have 4 registas.
You move RLC and replace him with a regista, you still have a hole, a major hole that they already have which is an offensive mezzala, who can pass, shoot and score goals.
Jashari is jack of all trades type of player… proper regista and Jashari are completely different. he is more Rabiot-esque… but of course the decision is Allegri’s alone. either a regista or vice-Rabiot is the player we need instead of RLC
Bondo isn’t pass oriented player at all. like Fofana he will be the box-to-box player.
Who is a proper regista in todays football?
Hakan is probably the best in that position and he is more a jack of all trades.
Jashari is the player that will play that role when Modric moves on. Milan also has Comotto for that role, besides Bondo.
That’s one position that they shouldn’t look for players at all.
have you seen Bondo play??? Comotto, I agree. that’s who will replace Modric next summer but Jashari is as big of a vice-Rabiot as he is vice-Modric…
regista main role, even more for our line up is their creativity and long distance passes… Bondo doing that is just delusional, he is literally a ball-winner and stamina guy…
and I said that it can be vice-Rabiot that we need to look for but registas would make more sense:
Stiller, Casado, Perrone, Vermeeren, Bernabe… all great options for n6 role
Heading to the CL and still in the race for the scudetto. And undefeated in 20+. At this point in the season, no complaints from me. If Ricci and Jashari step it up a few notches, Milan could close that gap on Inter.
Jashari is playing well, the good issue we have is Modric or him. Ricci on the other hand needs to improve a bit, but that was the case with Tonali his first season as well
From what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think he is playing well or well enough I should say. He isn’t at Modric’s level and can’t replace Rabiot or Fofana. His performances have been average so far and it does not appear that Allegri trusts him to start or play a central role in the team yet. Hence my wish for him to step it up a notch, if he can. Modric can’t be rested for this reason.
Ricci arrived as the player many thought the midfield should be built around, but he has been a major disappointment, so far. I thought we were getting Barella or Tonalli level. Not even close.
I think with his versatility he can be a great Rabiot sub;
Ricci, Fofana and Bondo taking the opposite CM side;
Modric is our only n6 (Comotto too young)
but at the end no one knows better what Jashari is capable of than Allegri. Athekame progress shows that and even though I think Ricci is still raw, him in box-to-box suits his style and character way more.
Maybe so, I was hopeful that we would have seen some flashes of Tonali or Barella, but not yet. If he manages to raise his game, I agree he can be a vital player. Time will tell I suppose.
That’s the way it should be. The coach should be in sync with the recruitment of the team.
An aligned team = delivery.
The perfect example was Liverpool with Klopp. Brought in players the coach wanted that he fit the profile he wanted.
Tare is one of the best in business, we knew ghat from Lazio. He is showing he can do it again with bigger budgets. There were sceptics here that beat the same theam, we need an Italian bla bla. Tare is top man
Harmony on the field and Harmony off the field. Perfect! Now on to the Pisa game.
