AC Milan are ready to implement a new revolution given the disastrous season that the club are experiencing, with several big changes planned.
Corriere dello Sport report that the premature exit from the Champions League and being ninth place in the league at present has forced the club to reflect deeply on the corporate structure that has made the most important decisions in the last year.
The main responsibility for the disappointing year lies with the ‘working group’ composed of senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, CEO Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada, those who have made the most delicate decisions in choosing coaches and players.
Before the match against Lazio, the Rossoneri CEO Furlani admitted that Milan are having an insufficient campaign and that he is among those responsible, as the only one in office with the power to sign things off.
Sporting director
The realisation of the bad work done has led to a fundamental decision, to plan for next year with the inclusion of a new managerial figure. The Rossoneri will have a new sporting director for next year and it will be a very delicate role.
The idea is to entrust everything in the hands of the sporting director for the choice of the new coach and for the transfer market. Milan held interviews in the last few days in London, with Igli Tare and Fabio Paratici.
To date, the main candidate to fill the role is the former Lazio director, who is ahead of Paratici. Tare worked from 2009 to 2023 together with Claudio Lotito where he won six trophies at Lazio, and was able to manage a limited budget every year to build teams.
On the other side there is Paratici, formerly of Juventus and Tottenham, who is just behind at the moment. The dossier of the two managers is on the table of the Milan management who will now have to make a unanimous decision.

The head coach
The sporting director will have to have the final say on the choice of the next coach and on the players to buy in the summer to strengthen the squad according to the requests of said coach.
The first names of the coaches who could be contacted are beginning to leak out. The first is Roberto De Zerbi, currently at Marseille, and already contacted last summer as part of an enquiry that did not come to fruition.
Formerly a Milan youth player, De Zerbi would be ‘honoured’ to return to the club that gave him a footballing education as he himself has admitted, while the Rossoneri would have guarantees over an entertaining style of play.
Speaking of guarantees, Massimiliano Allegri is the other big name on the list, who has a history of winning in Serie A. He has already coached the Rossoneri but times have changed, the last time was over ten years ago. The sporting director, as mentioned, will have the final say
Allegri and revolution in the same sentence…
My thoughts exactly…
De Zerbi’s football is focused on work with the ball and possession. We have a bunch of carriers and no creative passers. But he’d be a good choice. For me it’s between Italiano, De Zerbi and Sarri.
Hey, didn’t Mr. Fonseca say he wanted his team to dominate and have possession? 😀 😀 😀
That went according to plans, eh?
De Zerbi’s game is vertical af, really attacking but focused on ball passers and playmakers not carriers. With Fonzy we had domination but did not create anything special. Due to having a bunch of carriers but no playmakers. And the ball went side to side.
Even under De Zerbi this team would do the same they’ve always done: get the ball to left side and watch. And only 1/3 of the team will defend. Or try to defend.
If that’s the case. Between Allegri and De Zerbi. Then that’s one of the issues i have with this management, no clear ideas on how they want the team to look like
I would definitely bet on Sarri if we need to stop the current rot…no identity and zero style of play. Also if roles are clearly defined then let the SD fall on his sword…the advisor role of Ibra should be limited to just that…Advise…he seems to be more the face of the team which create further frustration of roles and responsibilities within the team. We have heard for the umpteenth time how the management differ on which coach to appoint and which player to go for…this must be bloody frustrating if the process is not seamless. Hopefully the SD will help sort it out.
Sarri or RDZ for the reboot, reset and revolution.
The only way to overcome this mess is with a proper defined football philosophy which in line with our club’s great tradition. Anything else will be another failed project.
A SD (Sport Director) with a history of winning like Paratici will be great however Tare might have a good working relationship with Sarri from his Lazio days. That Sarri link, and his ability to work within a more constrained budget might work in our favour .
CTRL>ATL>DEL ASAP
Lol they had De Zerbi on a plate in the summer and they rejected him. He is doing great at Marsei now being second place, why would he come here in a club with zero vision and identity, plus some ridiculous kits lol.
For sure kit is a dealbreaker for him. Good observation bro. 🙄
thank you gerry. we now have revolution every 6 months
No me I prefer De zerbi he is the best he has a good tactical methods that suit Acmilan.
No, the revolution must start with a new owner. The Cardinal is ultimately responsible for the mess we’re in. Bring in a new owner who truly has deep pockets, understands Italian football, is culturally sensitive, and installs a competent management team, and all the other pieces will then fall into place.
Yea, no, lets put the carriage before the horse….
