Massimiliano Allegri’s impact at AC Milan has been instant, with fans dreaming of the Scudetto. Igli Tare is at work to give him a hand, a report claims.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write this morning, the first quarter of the season is effectively over and Milan are in a good spot. Having been revitalised by Allegri, the Rossoneri are in second place in the table, just two points behind Roma in first.

After losing to Cremonese in the first match of the season, Milan have strung together 11 consecutive games without defeat and have beaten the other four teams in the top five. Yet, to try to achieve the final objective and perhaps dream a little bigger, one thing is necessary: expanding the squad.
Tare at work
This summer, Milan went on a ‘slimming diet’ reducing their squad to just 19 outfield players. This decision seemed risky from the start, and it has already taken its toll this season, especially in the last month when Allegri has had key players out due to injury.
For this reason, the January transfer window must bring reinforcements to provide the depth needed to go deep in a potential Scudetto race. The three priority signings are as follows: a central defender, a wing-back and a striker.
Milan wanted a more experienced centre-back in the summer before all options vanished and they invested €10m in the very young David Odogu instead. Thus, another option in that role might be needed, as an injury would leave the department exposed.
In midfield, a back-up is needed for Alexis Saelemaekers, one of Allegri’s favourites but a player who will need a rest in time. Zachary Athekame needs to grow and will now be out for a while due to injury, possibly until Christmas.
Finally, there’s the striker problem. Santiago Gimenez is falling short of expectations, despite his commitment. A true No.9 is needed, one that Allegri approves of, and the sporting director Tare has already initiated discussions with intermediaries and agents in search of the right names.

I hope Nkunku works out, the kid is talented. But damn, i cant stop thinking, that money could’ve easily be spent on the true striker.
He has shown nothing so far. If possible, looks even slower than Gimenez. 😀

Nkunku? Kid? KID?!!! 28-year-old kid??!!!! FFS, he’s not some “future prospect with plenty of room to improve”. He’s an adult. At peak age.

Nkunku has talent, but it’s difficult to fit in our team because his role overlaps with Leao and Pulisic (and even RLC is often put in the same position) behind the striker (that we don’t have). We need a true strong striker up front. He doesn’t have to score a massive amount of goals himself, but he has to be a target point for the rest of the team. Dovbyc is probably our best shot as he doesn’t fit into Gasperini’s Roma team.
No to Dovbyk man. There are better options. Mateta or Icardi should be our main targets. I would even take Joaquín Panichelli from Strassburg or Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid over Dovbyk.
In my opinion we should go for:
Milan Skriniar (CB)
Nuno Tavares from Lazio (LWB)
Givairo Read (RWB)
Mateta (CF) most likely Mateta due to his size which Allegri likes big strikers.
Nkunku did not look quick at all in that dash during the Inter game. Outpaced far too easily.
Jean-Philippe Mateta!!!!! Look at his play and stats for Crystal Palace. Six goals in 12 games this year. Fourteen in 37 games last year. Plus, he’s not coming from a lower league and you hope that the player perform in Serie A. He’s coming from one of the top three leagues.
