Telegraph: Milan re-ignite interest in Arsenal star; Rossoneri the ‘most likely destination’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have reignited their interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira in the summer window, according to a report from England.

Torreira is a player who has been linked with a move to Milan several times over the past couple of transfer windows, particularly when Marco Giampaolo took over as head coach at the start of the season, with the pair having worked together at Sampdoria.

The Uruguay international isn’t believed to be part of Mikel Arteta’s project, having made 29 appearances in the Premier League this season for the Gunners, amassing a goal and an assist but seeing his playing time drop once Arteta arrived.

According to Sam Dean of the Telegraph, Milan are interested in signing the 24-year-old once again, who could be allowed to leave as Arsenal want to rebuild their midfield.

Dean adds that sources in Italy say Fiorentina are also keen, but his understanding is that Milan is the most likely destination.
