Newcastle United have sent an ultimatum to Lille regarding their offer for centre-back Sven Botman after the asking price was raised, a report claims.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle believe that they are being targeted by a ‘tax’ that is complicating their pursuit of various targets, something which has put them off the likes of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.
As a result, Newcastle are trying to take the power back into their own hands and they are ready to issue an ultimatum to Lille over Botman, having offered £30m to sign the Dutchman to try and beat Milan to his signing.
The French club seem to have changed their mind on accepting Newcastle’s offer, raising the price and setting it at £36m (around €42m), something which has caused the Magpies to become a bit restless about the situation while Milan wait for developments.
If we sign him now it is the dumbest move ever, for a not starting cb
LOL, Newcastle whining about premiums clubs are charging them for their newfound wealth but no problems outbidding other clubs who have been negotiating at a certain price for months. Crocodile tears.
Most Newcastle fans I know, don’t even want him anyway, certainly not at €42 million, Milan would also be mad at that price for CB that probably won’t start.
Lol, Newcastle wants to start a bidding war!!! Well they got exactly what they wanted.

The wealthiest owners in the world. They are expecting to get a discount when PSG and Man City will pay whatever to get what they want?
