Report: Ten Hag wants Milan target at Man Utd but there is not ‘unanimous’ support

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is interested in signing Chelsea winger and AC Milan target Hakim Ziyech, according to a journalist.

Milan have been linked with a move for Ziyech since last summer and early reports in the current mercato suggested that a deal between the Rossoneri and Chelsea was very much a possibility.

However, MilanNews are among the sources now claiming that Paolo Maldini is unlikely make be an attempt for the Morocco international unless there is an exit in attack, but a move in late August cannot be ruled out if the opportunity is right.

According French journalist Nabil Djellit – who works for L’Equipe and France Football – Ziyech has now fallen onto the radar of Manchester United given that Erik Ten Hag knows the player well.

The new boss ‘wants to sign Hakim Ziyech at Manchester United’ as per the journalist and ‘it is one of his priorities’, but there is not ‘unanimous’ support within the club for the move.

Ziyech starred at Ajax under Erik Ten Hag before departing in a big money move to Chelsea where things just have not clicked for him, and he now seems to be increasingly out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.
