Terracciano happy with preseason preparations under new coach: “Good for morale”

By Oliver Fisher -

Filippo Terracciano has stressed the importance of establishing a winning feeling even if it is just preseason friendlies after AC Milan beat Manchester City last night.

Milan began their preseason tour of the USA in the right way as they beat the Premier League champions at Yankee Stadium. Lorenzo Colombo got a brace – with Samuel Chukwueze assisting both – and Marco Nasti got the winner off the bench inside the last 15 minutes.

Games against Real Madrid and Barcelona in Chicago and Baltimore respectively will provide a further test for Paulo Fonseca’s side, but we have already begun to see some more clear ideas on how they want to play.

Terracciano spoke to Milan TV after the full-time whistle yesterday and reflected on what was a very entertaining game at Yankee Stadium and more important minutes in the tank.

“It’s always good to win, regardless of the game. Then playing against City, a team we all know. It’s always good for morale. The loads were incremental, we started calmly and then increased the loads as the days went by,” he said.

“These games are good for us to get minutes in our legs, we’re trying to put in the new ideas that the coach is proposing to us. I think starting with the group from the first day of preseason is different. It’s easier to get into the team dynamics, I’m satisfied with today’s performance.”

  1. I’d try this kid in a DM position. Not as a starter of course but we’ll need at least two defensive minded midfielders. The season is long.
