Report: Thiaw is set to become the second-tallest outfield player at Milan

By Euan Burns -

German defender Malick Thiaw is set to become the second tallest player in the AC Milan squad when his move is confirmed, a report claims.

As has been stated on football transfers database Transfermarkt, Thiaw stands at 194 centimetres tall which means that he is the second tallest player Milan have right now, narrowly beaten by Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is 195 centimetres tall.

He has not officially signed but he is expected to be landing in Milan to undergo his medical on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

He is joining from Bundesliga side Schalke 04, for a reported fee of €6 million and he only turned 21 years old very recently.

There have been many comparisons between Liverpool defender Joel Matip who was also signed from Schalke in Germany.

Thiaw made 31 appearances in the Schalke defence in the 2.Bundesliga last season as the side from Gelsenkirchen managed to get back to the top division at the first time of asking. They will now have to deal without him.
