TMW: Milan 17pts better off than same stage last season as Inter and Juve regress

By Oliver Fisher -

The numbers suggest that despite some recent difficulties in terms of form, AC Milan should be very happy with the progress made this season.

TMW takes a look at the table this season in Serie compared to the same stage (after 23 rounds) last season. Although they extended their lead at the top to four points with Sunday’s derby win, Inter are actually worse off than last season. The comparison of the two teams that fought with the Nerazzurri for the title last season is much worse, as Juventus are nine points down and Lazio 10.

The team with the best progress is Milan, who are +17 compared to this point last season, while Roma, Napoli and Sassuolo can also be happy with their tally. The biggest losers are Cagliari (-17) and Parma (-18).

Inter 53 (-1 compared to Serie A 2019-20 after 23 days)
Milan 49 (+17)
Juventus 45 (-9)
Roma 44 (+5)

Lazio 43 (-10)
Napoli 40 (+10)
