TMW: Milan and Bayer Leverkusen enquire about teenage Gent sensation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have asked for information regarding Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Gent, according to a report, but there are a number of other clubs who have too.

According to TMW, Milan are following Fernandez-Pardo closely after an explosive end to the last season, as are Roma who recently made a survey. The winger is also liked by Bundesliga champion Bayer Leverkusen, who are always very interested in young players with creativity and an eye for goal.

He started only two games during the regular season but then in the play-offs he went on a tear. He made 10 appearances in which he started eight times, scoring seven goals and adding two assists. At 19 years of age, it was his first taste of senior football too.

His value has grown with each goal and now Gent would ask for around €10-15m to let Fernandez-Pardo leave. This could rise even further, considering that until March he had only played 15 minutes in the first team.

The teenager played 90 minutes in the final that gave Gent access to the next Europa League with a victory over Genk. It is not specified whether he would be a signing for the senior squad or Milan Futuro, but given his rapid rise it seems top flight football will be on his mind.

  1. We have enough wingers. Should give Chaka Toure playing time in preseason than signing more wingers. Lets not forget we’ve shipped out Romero. We already have Leao, Pulisic, Chukawese, okafor + chaka. Prioritize other positions.
