TMW: Milan could emerge empty handed as doubts arise over condition of Chelsea man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan risk having all their options evaporate with regards to potential centre-back targets, according to a report.

Going into deadline day, it was almost a certainty that Milan would sign a centre-back before the window closes at 20:00 CEST given that they currently have only two healthy players in that particular department.

However, a move for Ozan Kabak of Schalke is now off and a bid for Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg has reportedly been rejected, so the name of Antonio Rudiger once again began to circle.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com reported that Milan will make a new attempt for the former Roma star, but Di Marzio believes that he is unlikely to arrive.

According to the latest from Marco Conterio of TMW, there is a risk that even the Rudiger hypothesis will not materialise. There is no agreement on salary with the player and there are also doubts about his condition and the investment for the future given the injuries he has had in his career.
