TMW: Milan eye director who signed Mbappe, Lemar and Fabinho as Rangnick alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering the idea of poaching sporting director Luis Campos from Ligue 1 side Lille, according to a report.

Campos has helped oversee a huge transformation in fortunes at Lille, who finished second in Ligue 1 last season behind Paris Saint-Germain.

He has an excellent track record across his spells at Monaco and Lille when it comes to recruitment too, having been responsible for the signings of Fabinho, Thomas Lemar, Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Boubakary Soumare and Nicolas Pepe.

Of course there is a lot of speculation in the media regarding Ralf Rangnick’s potential arrival at Milan as a head coach and/or sporting director, but according to Tuttomercatoweb.com (via MilanLive), Elliott Management have an alternative in mind.

They claim that the American fund – who also own Lille – could ask Campos to move over to Milan and try to work his magic in Serie A, giving him the responsibility of unearthing young gems to help build a new, youthful Rossoneri side that improves the financial health of the club.
