TMW: Milan eyeing unhappy €35m Barcelona man; Inter and Juventus watch on

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in signing Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona but a deal at this point is complicated, a report claims.

Rakitic admitted earlier in the week that he feels ‘sad’ over his current situation at Barcelona due to a lack of playing time, while SportMediaset (via MilanNews.it) recently reported that the Rossoneri are interested in taking advantage.

According to Tuttomercatoweb – as cited by MilanNews.it – both Inter and Milan are following the situation with ‘great interest’ and could make their move.

As for the Nerazzurri, their primary objective is to sign another Barca man in Arturo Vidal, however if he will not come then Antonio Conte could accept Rakitic.

For Milan he would be considered a ‘salvation’, the report adds, however the Catalan side will not budge on their €35million valuation, nor will they accept a loan with option to buy.

Meanwhile, Juventus are always lurking: the Bianconeri have already had talks with Rakitic in the summer, but a swap deal with Federico Bernardeschi was not successful.

A midfield signing is not Juve’s biggest priority, the outlet concludes, so it could be a Derby della Madonnina for the 31-year-old Croatian.
