TMW: Milan will not sign Hernandez deputy with youngster set to step up

AC Milan are not going to sign a new left-back this summer to provide backup for Theo Hernandez as Davide Bartesaghi will be promoted to the first-team, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are no longer pursuing targets for that area of the pitch after being heavily linked with Riccardo Calafiori and Luca Pellegrini.

They are still trying to find a new club for Fode Ballo-Toure, the player that they were looking to replace with a new player, but the replacement will come from within the club.

2005-born Bartesaghi impressed Stefano Pioli and the fans with his performances in pre-season and the fact that he can play at left-back and centre-back makes him an attractive proposition.

The fact that both Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Calabria have shown they can play on both sides also means that even in the event Hernandez was unavailable, there will be cover in that position without spending more money.
