TMW: Milan ‘very active’ on the market and have ‘raised the pressure’ for De Keterlaere

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have picked Charles De Ketelaere as the man they want to bolster their attack with the directors at work to strike a deal with Club Brugge.

Speaking with an editorial on TMW, the journalist Nicolò Ceccarini spoke about Milan and their market moves, describing the Rossoneri as ‘very active’ across multiple fronts as they are ‘trying to accelerate their mercato’.

Renato Sanches has practically been signed from Lille, so now Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have strongly ‘raised the pressure’ on De Ketelaere and the aim is to lower the demands of Club Brugge which are still very high.

They believe that the 21-year-old Belgian playmaker has ‘extraordinary technical skills and the ability to adapt to multiple roles’ which makes him the perfect investment for the project and for head coach Stefano Pioli.

De Ketelaere can play as attacking midfielder but if necessary also as a right winger which essentially fills two gaps where Milan need reinforcements.

    1. If Romagnoli do not renew, we will only have 4 centre backs which is not enough. The minimum for a team competing in Europe is 5.

  1. I don’t see how we can “raise the pressure” on Brugge to lower the price lol. Miracle IMO if we do. He’s under contract until 2024 and has not expressed a desire to leave ( at least not publicly). If Brugge want to sell I’m sure CDK has many many suitors – so saying we are going to lower the price seems far fetched to me. I pray I am wrong and we get him but I don’t see us nor anyone else getting him for less than 40-50M IMO…

  2. Agree. If M/M succeeds in getting him, I will be extremely impressed…and surprised.

What counts in favour of them succeeding is the fact that Maldini told Cardinale that he would not sign a new contract, unless they are ready to take the next step financially. When Cardinale succeeded in winning him over, I would reckon that some of the reason was that buys like CdK would be sanctioned.
