TMW: Montpellier set price for striker with Milan, Juventus and Napoli interested

By Oliver Fisher -

Three Serie A clubs are interested in Montpellier striker Elye Wahi with AC Milan one of them, and the asking price has been set as per a report.

According to TMW, the three Italian sides that are interested in signing Wahi are Milan, Napoli and Juventus, after a season in which he netted 17 goals and added six assists which has understandably caught the eye of several admirers.

Montpellier have decided to start the auction at €25m as per the report. No concrete offers have arrived yet, but there is a lot of interest which is why the Ligue 1 club are sensing an opportunity to cash in.

However, they have decided to postpone all talks until the end of the current season, which means after the weekend of June 3rd. Only then will they entertain discussions over the 20-year-old, who has a very bright future ahead of him be it in Italy or elsewhere.

  1. Sign him asap it’s not too expensive 25 m they said 25 you guys give pls and basically don’t sign Diaz and you have 97% of the 💰 you need

  2. I’m starting to take these ligue 1 targets with a grain salt seeing how poorly French sides performed in Europe this season, it makes me wonder about the quality of the competition right now. Even Portuguese and Belgian sides kind of did better in Europe this season. Then you have players like Alexis Sanchez or Lacazette who didn’t look particularly great in their last season in Italy and England respectively and now all of a sudden they look like super stars in ligue 1, idk. The kid does look really good, though.

    1. You really think the competition in Portugal and The Netherlands is tougher?? You mentioned Sanchez, how about Vitinha. One of Portugal’s best players first half of the season, one of France’s biggest flops second half. You can’t just discredit the entire league because a few players revived their careers there. Different players are better suited to play in different environments. Plus, since the league is shrinking down to 18 teams, their European performances will surely improve.
