Fikayo Tomori of AC Milan

CM: Tomori’s future has ‘changed’ – Juventus still present but move almost impossible

Fikayo Tomori was heading in one direction as the January mercato approached, but now, the Englishman is back in contention, and it seems he will stay there.

Paulo Fonseca’s relationship with Tomori was rocky, and it seemed that the defender was on his way out of the club with the Portuguese head coach struggling to find a place for the defender in his system. However, this has now changed.

The Englishman, in some way, has been given a golden ticket to re-find himself. Sergio Conceicao wants to assess the players himself, and Tomori was one player brought back into the side for the Supercoppa semi-final.

Today, Calciomercato.com have provided an update on things, and it seems that the defender will not leave the club in January. According to the report, the defender is Conceicao’s best defender for the role required – being able to quickly get back and defend after being in a high line – perhaps, he is the only one that can fill this role too.

So for this reason, Tomori’s situation has changed. Whilst Juventus remain knocking at the door, with Cristiano Giuntoli stating as much before the game, it would require an offer too big for the Bianconeri to table.

In other words, the interest has not died, but the possibility of a deal has.

  1. You won juventus by luck is not the reason why tomori should stay.Tomori and theo derserved to be sold.Gabbia-Thiaw partnership will give you a stronger defence than Tomori-Thiaw.save your job or you will be sacked.

      1. He is true, one game doesn’t change…Gabbia is better than Tomori, he saved a certain goal against Juv. Gabbia provides consistency, Tomori doesn’t.

  2. He’s needed. Gabbia-Thiaw partnership is good but overrated. How does people think that no other defenders should start a match.

    1. That overrated partnership has conceded the 5th least amount of goals in Serie A. Not sure what other proof you need. Defense was problem last season when Tomori was starting every match, it’s not this season. Q.E.D.

  3. Selling to Jeventus is rediculace option, if the guy can rediscover his form then he is our fastest CB and as the article stated he want fast player for what he want from his CB. Nothing against the rest they are decent. Long season and everyone will play.
