It is currently a ‘race against time’ for Fikayo Tomori to recover for the game against Juventus, but a replacement is already ready.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall this morning, it was in the second half of the game between Milan and Napoli on Sunday evening that manager Massimiliano Allegri was forced to replace Tomori after he complained of a muscle strain.

Fortunately, in the hours that followed, no serious injuries or damage were discovered for the Englishman, only a minor adductor strain for the centre-back. Although the severity of the injury is not catastrophic, Tomori’s presence for the match against Juventus remains in doubt.
Tomori was at Milanello yesterday for treatment despite it being a rest day and the team not training. Today, with the group returning to work, there will be further updates and more certainty regarding his physical condition.
There is definitely a collective desire to try and get Tomori back for the match in Turin in four days time, but nothing will be rushed because of the risk of further damage.
If the former Chelsea man is not deemed fit enough, Koni De Winter is prepared to step in for what would be his first league start since arriving in the summer.
Hoping Tomori is healthy but I’d be happy to see de Winter thrown into the Juve game. He seems composed and smart.
I agree. For a tough match like this, i’d rather have tomori for consistency. But, It’s not like De Winter has never started a game in his life. The guy played the whole last season starting at Genoa. Unlike say, a Berthesaghi.
Bartesaghi will be starting for “Red Card” Estupion. He did a better job in his 35 minutes against Napoli than Estupion did.
You say that, but game replay shows that Bartesaghi let in more crosses and allowed more shots from his flank than Pervis did in the same match.
Anguissa got crosses in from his side, and Neres basically had free license to shoot on sight, and almost scored two belters if it hadn’t been for Mike’s save and a Modric hair tip onto the post.
I’m not sure what replays you’re watching. I went back and looked at the game from the time Bartesaghi came in until full time. He did an awesome job defending 1v1. He stuffed attempted crosses three times. Once by Politano in the 74th minute and two by Neves after Politano was subbed. Estupion was being beaten into the box easily by Politano in the first half and then pulled the bone headed play for the red card.
Bartesaghi was not the primary defender on either one of Neves’ shots on goal. Rabiot was closer to Neves on the shot and that hit post and the second shot went right past Leao. Neves beat Bartesaghi on the dribble once in that game.
I’d say that’s a pretty solid effort considering the team was short handed and totally defensive the entire time he was in the game.
