Tottenham suffer heavy defeat ahead of Milan Champions League clash

By Euan Burns -

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat away at Leicester City in the Premier League before they travel to Italy to take on AC Milan in the Champions League.

Antonio Conte’s side are in a battle to finish in the top four of the Premier League but their hopes took a blow as they were easily beaten at the King Power stadium.

They actually took the lead through former Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur but then goals from Nampalys Mendy, James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes meant it was an embarrassing afternoon in the East Midlands.

Neither team are coming into the Champions League round of 16 tie in great shape as they are both lower than they would like to be in their respective tables.

Milan are the team coming off the back of a win, though, meaning they could be more confident as they take the pitch at San Siro on Tuesday night.

  1. I actually watched this game. Spurs were dismal. I don’t know if this is good for us or bad, since it may motivate them to react against us.

  2. We have a chance but I’m afraid that Pioli will play too conservatively and not attack Spurs’ poor defense hard enough. Without Loris they are much more vulnerable and we must take advantage.
