Tuttosport: AC Milan want to hire a ‘great’ coach ahead of next season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are already thinking about bringing in a top head coach to replace Stefano Pioli for 2020-21, according to a report.

Pioli was hired to replace the struggling Marco Giampaolo in October after the latter lasted just 111 days in charge, and while the performances have improved the results have not.

The Rossoneri have won just three of their first 10 games under the former Lazio and Fiorentina manager, the most recent setback being a 5-0 humiliation by Lombardy neighbours Atalanta on Sunday.

Tuesday’s edition of Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) reported that the relationship between Pioli and Milan is destined to last until June 2020 at the latest, but an early sacking is not excluded.

According to the same outlet – this time via MilanNews.it – Pioli is not on the chopping block despite the catastrophic events of the weekend, but his future at Milan is far from certain.

However it is probable that the Milan leadership allow Pioli to see out the season, but in the club’s plans there is the intention of bringing a coach of ‘great character and technical depth’ to Milanello who knows how to give that little bit more that the Rossoneri are currently missing.
