Tuttosport: Bologna sensation joins Lille ace as Milan weigh up striker investment

By Oliver Fisher -

There is a lot of speculation surrounding AC Milan’s potential transfer activity given the obvious gaps in the squad to address, and the centre-forward role in particular is gaining attention.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Milan will have to sign a top striker either in January or next summer and the top name on the list at the moment is still Jontahan David of Lille.

His contract with the French club expires in June 2025 and he has no intention of renewing, which puts them in a position where they can no longer demand the €50m+ that they were asking for during the last summer mercato.

This aspect will be fundamental in the negotiation, as will that fact that the relations between the two clubs – Milan and Lille – are fantastic after the resolution of the Leao-Sporting CP case through CEO Giorgio Furlani.

David is not the only name on Milan’s list to strengthen the attack next summer though, as the paper states that Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna is also admired. However, the Rossoblu values him highly given that they would have to pay a significant percentage to Bayern Munich in the event of a resale.
