Tuttosport: Chelsea midfielder back in fashion with Milan as other targets prove difficult

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are starting to make some more positive movements towards the signing of Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek after a break in the talks, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri could still sink the decisive blow to bring the English midfielder to the club.

The Rossoneri were previously close to signing Loftus-Cheek but the sacking of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara meant the deal had to be put on ice while the club assessed its new and existing targets.

Circumstances surrounding other targets, such as the rising price of Tajjin Reijnders and the hesitation of Arda Guler, may lead Milan to go all in on Loftus-Cheek and ensure they get some reinforcement for the midfield as soon as possible.

Chelsea are very keen to get as many sales through as possible and Loftus-Cheek is one of the names that they would like off of the wage bill.

  1. He was meant to be a complimentary signing when Isma injured. But now we lost Sandro and midfield department has a bigger hole to cover, and signing only him is not enough to cover the hole.

    1. even if we have 70 mils euro, we still can not close any deal. and holes everywhere now, upfront, mid, and I think we still need a proper backup for LB too. This is the definition of love hurts

  2. No way! I thought only “amateur” Maldini would sign such players, while Moncada’s notebook is full of new Mbappes and Camavingas.
I guess Chat GPT is currently overloaded and can’t provide their money balls algorithm with new wonderkids straight out from FM Genie Scout.

  3. Just want to say, happy birthday, Paolo! And the #CardinaleOut is trending topic on Twitter now. A quite proper gift.

  4. Maldini is sacked just because owner does not have problem in players sale.

We will see how moncada, furlani and moneyball algorithms are totally fluke and amateurs In compare to Maldini and Massara transfer players arrivals

  5. He will take the last non Eu spot this rat and then the likes of ARDA and the other targets for the right wing puff gone out of the window. AMAZING DIRECTORS

  6. The only problem with the club and management is that they don’t have or don’t want to spend money! Not some huge incoherent sums of money like english clubs, but money that is badly needed for the goals that this same management expects from people to whom it trusts. I agree that Milan have big problems selling players and that quite a few have left for free. I think that’s the only real reason where we can consider M and M unsuccessful. All other problems such as mistakes when investing in players are normal and happen to absolutely everyone

  7. LOLOLOLO….how ironic this would be if we sign RLC and another player like Arnautovic- players Maldini was getting ridiculed and crucified for going after. Would be amazing Karma.

Not as easy as it seems – when always trying to sign players for discounts, offering lower wages, etc….your talent pool is very limited. Something M&M had to deal with every day and now Furlani is experiencing that same reality.

You get what you pay for.

@Piloi is sitting at home in his moms basement nervously praying that this doesn’t happen. The kid will have a meltdown lol.

Can’t wait for this to happen lol.

  8. I feel like all I can do at this point is laugh. You sack Maldini because you have disagreements and then you sell our best midfielder and haven’t been able to single out or sign any midfielder and then you go back to who Maldini wanted to help reinforce instead your using him to replace tonali? There better be three midfielder of top quality coming in because this is just ridiculous

  9. What a bargain , what a great player , you should welcome him with open arms , he’s going to prove you all wrong , OK he’s been unfortunate with injuries in the past , but it’s been hard for him to break into an overgrown squad with some quality players .
Good luck RLC we won’t forget you CFC for ever ❤️ 💙
