Genoa are interested in signing Matteo Gabbia from AC Milan in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Gabbia burst onto the scene in the second half of the 2019-20 season as Stefano Pioli battled an injury crisis, with Mateo Musacchio and Leo Duarte missing long periods, plus further injuries to Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported over the weekend that the Milan management are keen for Gabbia to go out on loan to another Serie A club in order to gain more playing time for his development.
According to Monday’s edition of the newspaper Tuttosport (via Calciomercato), Genoa have earmarked Gabbia as a potential replacement for former Milan centre-back Cristian Zapata.
The Grifone want the 20-year-old but at the moment the issue is the formula of the deal. While there is no further information given, we can imply that Genoa want a loan with option for the deal to be made permanent, but Milan want to keep control.
