Tuttosport: Kessie should play from start for Milan against Inter – the latest

Franck Kessie will return to Italy tomorrow after getting knocked out of the AFCONs with his Ivory Coast. The midfielder sustained an injury in the deciding clash but it doesn’t appear to be anything serious.

The 25-year-old took a knock to his ribs and fortunately, the following tests revealed no broken ribs but only a trauma. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), he should thus be back for the derby against Inter.

Milan have mostly relied on Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic during the AFCONs but for the derby, Stefano Pioli will have many options. Tonali is a certainty in the XI, but it remains to be seen if he will pick Ismael Bennacer or Kessie.

As per the newspaper, the Rossoneri are expecting to have Kessie fully ready for the game against Inter. If that is the case, then a starting spot seems very likely for the Ivorian, who is a key player for the team.
