Tuttosport: Liverpool ready €40m straight swap involving Milan star and midfielder linked with exit

Alessio Romagnoli is one of AC Milan’s most important players as well as the player who is highest in demand among big European clubs. Reports in Spain claimed this morning that the Rossoneri captain is a step away from renewing his contract but perhaps everything could end up differently.

As reported by Tuttosport (via milanlive.it), Jurgen Klopp would have targeted the Milan defender in view of the summer transfer market. Liverpool are looking for a profile to complement Van Dijk and the German coach would have identified Romagnoli as a candidate.

The English team would have already thought of a proposal to try to snatch the 25-year-old from the San Siro: a swap deal including Naby Keita, former Salzburg and Leipzig midfielder chosen directly by likely future Milan coach Ralf Rangnick.

Liverpool would like a straight swap deal with a valuation of 40 million euros for both players. Needless to say, Milan would never accept such a proposal, but the temptation of the European champions could have an effect on Romagnoli’s and Mino Raiola’s decision-making.
