Tuttosport: Massara leading the charge as Milan resume talks over Benfica midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have resumed contacts over a possible deal for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for the Portuguese starlet and it was reported by multiple outlets that the club were close to tying up a deal to sign him in the January transfer window.

According to Tuttosport on Monday (via MilanLive), Florentino’s name is still on Milan’s wish list of possible midfield targets and the management have not given up on the idea of signing the 20-year-old ahead of next season.

Contacts between the parties have not ceased, and the paper adds that sporting director Frederic Massara has spoken to the entourage of the young player again recently.

Milan’s idea regarding a deal is not be very different from the one they had a few months ago: the Rossoneri would like Florentino on a two-year paid loan. He is seen as the right profile to strengthen the midfield, which needs alternatives to the Kessie-Bennacer duo.
