Tuttosport: Milan aiming to secure their defence long-term with two renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are not just thinking about new additions to raise the level of the squad as they are also looking to reward players who have been instrumental in the success so far.

As reported this morning by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are well aware that the defensive department became the big strength of the Rossoneri in the final stages of the Scudetto battle with nine clean sheets in the last 11 games, and they want to lock down Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu for the long-term.

There is optimism in the negotiations between Milan and the entourage of Tomori, with the discussions progressing well, and the paper adds that the English defender wants to stay at Milan which is an important starting point.

Meanwhile, the will to continue together is there on both sides in the talks with Kalulu too, and Milan will resume discussions with the player and his entourage at the end of the transfer window. The Frenchman’s contract expires in 2025 and he could see his pay go from €400k net to €2m per season.
