AC Milan are still in the market for a right-back despite the acquisition of Pierre Kalulu from Lyon, according to a report.
Milan have struggled for consistency down the right side of their defence all season with Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti both failing to hold down a spot in the starting XI for long periods due to injuries, suspensions and poor form.
Kalulu is already set to join from Lyon on a five-year deal, but there has been a lot of speculation that the Rossoneri are still after a new starter, someone more ready to be thrown in at the deep end in Serie A.
According to Friday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) there are two names that are currently atop the Rossoneri’s wish list ahead of the upcoming window.
The first is Emerson da Souza, a talented 21-year-old currently on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona, where he has had a good season drawing interest from the Premier League.
The other right-back is Denzel Dumfries, the captain of PSV Eindhoven and another player regularly linked with Milan. The Eredivisie side value the 23-year-old at about €20million.
