Tuttosport: Milan evaluated three other right-backs before going for Dest – the names

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were forced to dip back into the market to sign a right-back after Alessandro Florenzi’s injury in the draw against Sassuolo.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Florenzi’s muscle injury that he sustained at the Mapei Stadium in the closing stages of the 0-0 should keep him out for several weeks, so Milan immediately looked for cover.

They managed to close a deal in a few hours with Barcelona for the arrival of Sergino Dest on an initial loan deal that will include an option to buy valid for next summer, however he was not the only player that was evaluated.

The other names that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara thought of include Alvaro Odriozola of Real Madrid, Davide Zappacosta of Atalanta and Gabriele Zappa of Cagliari. However, in the end they settled on the 21-year-old USA international who is tipped to have a very bright future following his emergence at Ajax.
