Tuttosport: Milan have submitted an offer and have a plan to sign Marseille star – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a strong interest in signing Florian Thauvin from Marseille but will not try and sign him in January, a report claims.

The situation seems to have escalated a fair bit in recent weeks, as last Friday Maldini admitted during an interview with Telefoot that he is a ‘very interesting’ profile that the club are following.

Thauvin then responded to the comments from Maldini and admitted to being flattered to learn of Milan’s interest, though Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas wasn’t best pleased with them.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the Milan management are currently planning to sign him on a free transfer ahead of the 2021-22 season and therefore not in the upcoming January window.

That is because they are focusing on the pursuit of a centre-back when the window reopens, something that was missed in the last mercato. Nonetheless, there is an offer on the table to the France international worth €3.5m net per season.
