Tuttosport: Milan player ratings from win over Verona – pair of subs impress but duo flounder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan managed to get the job done against Hellas Verona on Saturday night at San Siro, but it was far from straightforward in the end.

After being 2-0 down at the break, Olivier Giroud’s header with just over 30 minutes left halved the deficit, and then an equaliser came from a penalty of Milan’s own before the winner came via an own-goal from Gunther.

In today’s Tuttosport player ratings (via MilanNews), there are two Rossoneri players who deserved a score of 7, which was the top score given out. It was two substitutes as well in Rafael Leao and Samu Castillejo, who were decisive in engineering the comeback.

A 6.5 was given to Davide Calabria, Rade Krunic and Ante Rebic, while a 6 went to Ciprian Tatarusanu, Fikayo Tomori, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Franck Kessie and Oliver Giroud. A 5.5 went to Alessio Romagnoli, Alexis Saelemaekers and Ismael Bennacer, and a 5 was given to Daniel Maldini and Fode Ballo-Touré, who both did not convince.

    1. Bennacer was one of the worst players, he was supposed to play a defensive role and he did that . His problem is that he has tendency of holding the ball too much in our own half and those are tge mistakes that led to the goals
