Tuttosport: Milan player ratings for Cagliari win – ‘Perfect management of resources’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan got back to winning ways after six games without a victory last night as they put five goals past Cagliari at San Siro.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) has their ratings from the game starting from the back, with Marco Sportiello having a ‘game full of excellent saves’ and ‘no responsibility for the Cagliari goal’, getting a 6.5 out of 10.

Pierre Kalulu was ‘careful’ in his right-back role after a brighter start and got a 6, while Matteo Gabbia was given a 5 after struggling to deal with Luvumbo and getting a yellow card that makes him miss the Torino game. Fikayo Tomori replaced him, and he got a 6.

Malick Thiaw made an important intervention to deny Luvumbo in the 25th minute and got a 6.5 while Alessandro Florenzi drew a save from Scuffet with a shot from distance then had a quieter game, earning a 6. Theo Hernandez replaced him and had an easy task, also getting a 6.

Yunus Musah ‘made one mess after another, not least forgetting about Nández when he scored’, so the American midfielder got a 5. Ismael Bennacer by contrast got a goal and an assist in a dominant performance, scoring a 7.

Tijjani Reijnders start the move for Milan’s first goal and scored a rocket to restore the two-goal lead, obtaining a 7. Samuel Chukwueze had a hand in Bennacer’s goal, but was forced off at half-time due to a muscle problem (6).

Rafael Leao was the man who replaced the Nigerian and moved over to the left. He hit the crossbar, got an assist and a well-taken goal. Rating: 7.5. Olivier Giroud struggled with the pace of the game and got a 5, but his replacement Noah Okafor was bright and was given a 6.5.

Christian Pulisic was only seen a couple of times in the first half and yet then at the end of the game he had a brace thanks to two great finishes. A 7 went to the American winger, just as it did to Stefano Pioli for ‘perfect management of resources’.
