Tuttosport: Milan receive double injury boost as duo hope to return after break

AC Milan have been handed a double injury boost in view of the resumption of Serie A after the international break as two forwards will reportedly be back.

Stefano Pioli had practically only one striker available for the defeat against Napoli on Sunday in Olivier Giroud, given that Rafael Leao was suspended, while Ante Rebic, Divock Origi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were out due to injury.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Pioli could have them all back for the trip to face Empoli once the break is over. Leao will certainly return as he has served his one-match ban but importantly there is also optimism regarding the condition of Rebic and Origi.

Regarding the Croatian, there are very encouraging signs on the small hernia that emerged before the match against Sassuolo. The Rossoneri striker underwent a conservative treatment which fortunately is giving the desired effects, and Rebic aims to be ready for the match against Empoli.

There is also good news about Origi who is being treated in Belgium to resolve a tendonitis issue with the medical staff of the Belgian national team, which has also been joined by a member of the Milan staff, and in the next few days the striker will return to Milanello. He hopes to make either the Empoli match or the next Champions League game against Chelsea (5 October).
