AC Milan are set to focus on the defence too this summer despite all the links with midfield and attacking targets, a report claims.
The media has been awash with speculation regarding the Rossoneri’s upcoming mercato in the past couple of days, with the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Sandro Tonali, Luka Jovic, Patrik Schick and Dusan Vlahovic all linked.
Nonetheless, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting that the defensive department will also be focused on, with Mateo Musacchio and Leo Duarte facing uncertain futures.
Celtic star Kristoffer Ajer is a target, but Premier League teams are also interested in the 22-year-old Norwegian. The other defender eyed is Wesley Fofana of Saint-Etienne, for whom Milan have had a first offer of €18m rejected.
Milan are also following PSV captain Denzel Dumfries with great interest, for whom the Eredevisie side are asking for €18m. He could be the replacement for Davide Calabria, who has ended up in the crosshairs of several teams such as Bologna and Sevilla.
