Tuttosport: Milan will intervene in the market this summer to sign a new centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are determined to sign a centre-back this summer given the current state of the department, according to a report.

The Rossoneri continue to be linked with a move for a new central defender with the likes of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Saint-Etienne’s Wesley Fofana attracting the most speculation.

According to Friday’s edition of the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have decided to intervene in the market and will sign a new centre-back before the end of the window.

With Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer as the established pairing and the 20-year-old Matteo Gabbia as the back-up, there are no other players who can offer guarantees at present.

Leo Duarte has not convinced both from a physical and technical point of view since his arrival from Flamengo, while Mateo Musacchio – who is currently injured – will leave if the right offer comes in or next summer when his deal runs out.
