The €110m, spend the ensemble of midfielders are all well and good but without a STRIKER it may prove to be all in vain and if Pioli does not recognise this he should be shown the door.
Do what needs to be done and get a STRIKER, one befitting our club, a real bomber, even Lakaku if need be or David or BETO or Sesko.
Only goals win games ONLY GOALS, the striker position is the most important on the pitch and we only have Giroud and Colombo, we have Okafor and he will prove valuable (God willing), but it is not enough to challenge on 3 fronts.
Osimen has shown that with a world class striker you can win the scudetto at ‘a canter’, despite not having strength in every position.

Harder said then done finding a striker in that mold and strikers are high profile. Even 31 year old Taremi is around 20-25 million. Management will likely find someone but it will be later on.

It’s not about being broke. The club needs to maintain balanced finances. And many teams sell to maintain that, including many German teams who do it routinely. Until we have our own stadium, we need to edge more into this reality.
Do you realize this team was one of the few that was in the black and not the red in terms of revenues versus expenditures? And this off the back of the covid pandemic when stadiums were shut.

I don’t agree with this, we are fine in front with many combinations and many players now. We don’t always have to play classic no. 9 ( such as Ollie) which makes our play predictable, it would be interesting to see Pulisic(as a false 9)/ Okafor flanked by Chuku & Leao.
If any more transfers should be made they should be for a quality central midfielder & quality centreback.
Last year we had Giroud, Rebic, Origi, Ibrahimovic.
This year Giroud, Okafor, Colombo, Origi must be fine.
Next year buy 40 million striker….
& last year we came 5th and did not have a €110 spend.
We can not expect to win the scudetto or do well in the Champions League with our current forward line.
Giroud can not leas the attack no way, Colombo is either not good enough or not ready yet, Okafor has a tendency to go out to the wings and is not a stone cold striker.

Money is already spent. It is pointless now to spend 5 – 10 million on new striker. Better option is to use next summer mercato money to buy 1 expensive young striker.
No. We can’t risk not having a fit striker, missing out on the CL and losing revenues. If there is an opportunity to sign someone now, and Colombo leaves, we need to act now.
I guess the management slowed down too much for new players rn . We lost Veliz for whatever reason they can think and Gonzalez and Kamada Thuram Aouar Ndicka. rn idk why they can sign LB RB CB ST CDM and we have targets but idk what they are doing rn and can’t just sign Dominguez Singo Estève promote Barteseghi or sign Valentin Barco Larsen from Celta Or Beljo from Augsburg or Gift Emmanuel Orban they need to speed things up because the crisis will happen if not have full power
The summer transfer market isn’t even close to over. We have plenty of time but need to work on exits. Messias is having his medical tomorrow. There will be other opportunities.
Remind me, why have we signed Okafor if we now need another striker? Was it to play on the left?
We have four players for that one position – instead of throwing money at a fifth maybe we need to make the best with what we have this season.

☝️We’re not making a big more for one this summer as most of our funds have gone towards a midfield rebuild. We’re nearly at the end of our incoming transfer market. Even with sales we won’t have enough to get what we really need in this position, but we may scratch together enough for a CB, our other current need, as sourcing a quality young CB is easier.

☝️This would be repeating the mistake we same to make every summer, buying some kid for 10m and then disappearing him into the youth system. No, what we need is an experience profile for one year, so we can get through this season, and then spending almost everything (since the rest of the lineup is relatively settled, except maybe another CB, see above) on one top striker next summer. We will need 40-50m for this. So use the entire transfer kitty on a striker next year. So to get us through this season I would say hijack Roma’s deal for Duvan Zapata (valued at only 3m), who at 32 is not our long term solution, but would be a solid add to our striker rotation of Giroud and Okafor. Colombo can go out on loan. Then Giroud expires next summer, we get that top striker and then our rotation is 1. [new striker], 2. Okafor, 3. Zapata (if it’s a permanent deal)/Colombo.
I mean we COULD wait and see what a healthy Origi can contribute. He came in injured and never really reached healthy form last season. It’s not the worst option…..
Lacazette. 😉 doubt he will leave Lyon though, but he would be my dream signing. Guy often has double digit scoring seasons. He scored 31 last season. And he would fit right in with some of our players.
And people need to stop saying Origi. He is a really bad player. He’s not the crutch player Liverpool used to count on that would come on as a sub and score important goals anymore. The guy can barely score anymore.
Also, recognize management for balancing the budget, signing reinforcements and this team posting a net profit for the first time in nearly 17 years.
Bench giroud then use him as supersub, I mean he is 37 ffs, too many wasting chances every single game. And use okafor as false 9. Otherwise in my opinon it will be wiser to stay use 4231, problem solve.
