Tuttosport: Pessimism filters regarding Rebic – Pioli studying the solutions to face Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

Ante Rebic looks set to miss Saturday’s derby against Inter, which has reportedly left Stefano Pioli considering three different solutions.

According to Wednesday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Rebic will undergo a new test on his elbow to see if it has fully recovered from the dislocation he suffered during the 2-0 win over Crotone, but as the hours pass there is more pessimism about his presence on the pitch on Saturday.

With Rebic out, the most likely hypothesis is to see Samu Castillejo on the field from the start on the right wing, with Alexis Saelemaekers on the left. This option would be the one that would allow Pioli the most assurances as the cover the aforementioned duo provide would allow Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria to overlap.

If Pioli wanted to put a more attacking players in that position then the choice could be Rafael Leao or Brahim Diaz. In that area of the field there would also be the Hauge option, but the Norway international is almost certain not to start.

There is no doubt about the fact that Calhanoglu will act as the playmaker behind Ibrahimovic, however.
