There is a strange lack of news regarding Marcus Thuram and the decision he might make regarding his next club, a report has claimed.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) talks of a ‘strange silence’ regarding Thuram’s position given that the French striker was expected to have made a decision by now with two offers on the table.
Thuram will leave Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer after four years in Germany and is currently weighing up bids from Paris Saint-Germain and Milan, the paper adds.
PSG have apparently put forward an offer of €7m net per season and a deal until 2028, while Milan – who the striker admitted he supported as a child – have made a bid worth €4.5m per year until 2027.
The Rossoneri, however, are offering more than money. They have pitched a regular position in Stefano Pioli’s starting line-up and a leading role in the project moving forward.
Thuram should announce his choice between PSG and Milan, in the coming day, presumable before the end of the week, but at present there is ‘radio silence’.

Do you realise that Liverpool spent more on a one bench player than entire Serie A in one transfer window? Do you think that investing 200m in a project that bareley covers it’s expennses now can be susatainable? Look at Juve and Inter how are they doing financially now with their grand invest now deal with it later project. One will have to sell players even tho they went to the final of CL and another can actually be relegated to serie B. Here we go again, same argument going round and round. There is a difference between sinking the club by spending money we don’t have, and going after Milinkovic-Savic and Berardi. Why were we able to spend something the past few years and now we can’t anymore? We had a strategy of signing young players, surround them with veterans. It worked great the past three years (2nd, 1st, 4th in Serie A, back to UCL, semis this season). Jerry is changing the strategy now, it’s a step back, but we should seize the opportunity. Anyway, this is the reality now, let’s just hope that Moncada could find gems for cheap and that Pioli will actually know what to do with them.

Renato Sanches made the right choice. Considering his injury history and Milan Lab injury history, it is better getting high salary as benchwarmer than low salary as lab test subject.
Despite being a Benchwarmer at Paris, you often get injured, maybe there’s nails and broken bottles on PSG bench. Just maybe.
Renato Sanches coming to Italy that plays more physical approach to the game would have been a wasted investment with his biscuit bone.

Yeah but considering Mbappe just announced that he wont be extending his contract, there’s every chance that he would get sold, therefore more room/minutes for Thuram to be the protagonist there. If he wishes so.

He’s big and he’s powerful, no doubt. I can see why he’s effective.
But He’s pretty average technically, very inellegant.
I’m not against him but boy will fans turn on him if he starts slowly.

We will see what happens moving forward but this far although salty, the signs are not that good – less budget than last season, wage cap, limit of 30M max per player including salary and a management group that no longer has strong ties to the agencies that represents the players. If PSG offer superior money then Marcus will not have doubt choose PSG, but he know euro cup are coming. He have war in mind now, choose become protagonist with 4,5m euro nett salary or 7m euro nett salary with risking his future. Remember icardi ? He is sold to turks club after his spell in PSG.
