Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are ready to get to work this summer on strengthening the Milan squad in four steps, a report claims.
As reported this morning by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Milan summer market will be organised into four different processes.
First comes the renewals of the most important players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Hakan Calhanoglu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, then those who are redundant or outside of the Rossoneri project will be sold.
Then there will be purchases to make the squad even more competitive and finally, in the last days of the market, they will try to seize any opportunities that may arise. Obviously, it cannot be excluded that a new purchase may arrive before a contract extension or a sale, but these are the priorities that Maldini and Elliott have agreed on.
The first step is to close the negotiations for the renewal of Ibrahimovic with Mino Raiola. This is Milan’s absolute priority at the moment, and then the rest of the market can be thought about.
As for targets, the Diavolo are looking for a right-back, a central defender and a couple of midfielders. With the renewal of Ibra there should be no movements in attack, but in the last days of the market some interesting opportunities may arise.
