The atmosphere at Milanello on Monday was not ideal after Sunday’s disappointing 0-0 draw against Cagliari, according to a report.
It was a lethargic and lacklustre performance against a team who sat deep and tried to frustrate despite learning that they had retained their top flight status for another year just a couple of hours before kick-off, and now only a win against Atalanta will make sure of a Champions League return.
As Tuttosport writes (via MilanNews), it could have been a relaxing start to the week, however the draw against Cagliari forces Milan to stay focused for the next decisive match. The paper adds how yesterday morning the atmosphere of the team at training was ‘sad’. The players will take it easy today as Pioli has given them a day of rest, but from tomorrow they will have to come back with their minds, bodies and hearts ready in the preparation for the match against Atalanta.
