Tuttosport: Targeted rotation for Milan vs. Red Star – Pioli looks for answers from fringe players

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has decided to rotate against Red Star tonight and give a chance to a number of players who haven’t player much recently, a report claims.

It will be a tough test for the Rossoneri in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie at the Marakana against a team that haven’t lost a game domestically all season, scoring 55 goals and conceding just eight in the process.

However, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how – with the derby on the horizon – Pioli has chosen to rely heavily on rotation and to look for key answers from those players who have found less playing time so far.

In this regard, Pierre Kalulu will play as the right-back, with Diogo Dalot “relegated” to the bench after his bad performance against Spezia. In the centre of the defence there will be space for Fikayo Tomori to partner Alessio Romagnoli.

In the midfield, Kessie will be rested and replaced by Soualiho Meite. As we already know, Mario Mandzukic is also set for his first start while Ante Rebic, Rade Krunic and Samu Castillejo are expected to be behind him.
