Tuttosport: Torino want to keep their best players in January – includes Milan target

Torino president Urbano Cairo is determined to keep his best players at the club during the January transfer window as the Granata try to qualify for Europe.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Granata are very keen to hold onto players such as Samuele Ricci and Alessandro Buongiorno during the January transfer window as they are integral to the way the team plays.

Torino are enjoying a good Serie A season so far, sitting 10th at the halfway stage and only three points away from a place in the Europa Conference League.

It is likely to be a very close fight for European spots this season and were Ivan Juric’s side to lose any key players, they would almost certainly not make the grade.

One of the players that Torino want to keep is Buongiorno, the centre-back who has been linked with a move to Milan in recent weeks.

The Rossoneri want a new central defender and after missing out on Radu Dragusin, they are now looking at other targets.

If Cairo gets what he wants, Milan will have to wait till the summer if they want to sign Buongiorno and get someone else in for the rest of the season.

  1. That might actually be better for Milan. By the summer, Pobega will be healthy, and they can use him as a counterpart in the transfer to lower the cash amount, since Juric likes him so much.
    Pobega + Colombo + €€€
    for Boungiorno and Ricci.
