Two incredible statistics show the extent of Milan’s resurgence over the past 12 months

The stats show that Milan’s resurgence over the past 12 months has been nothing short of staggering for a number of reasons.

Milan ended 2020 with a huge win against Lazio and with it they kept top spot in the Serie A table thanks to Theo Hernandez’s late winner.

It looked like the spoils would be shared, but the Frenchman popped up with a near post header to snatch all three points and keep Milan top of the table. That means that the Rossoneri are at the summit with 34 points after 14 games, one point above city rivals Inter.

The comparison with 2019-20 is incredible, as Milan had only 17 points after 14 Serie A games last season, meaning they have managed to double their points total one year on.

Meanwhile, Milan dominated Serie A in 2020 overall, collecting 79 points in 35 games. Juventus (68) are in fourth behind Inter (73) and Atalanta (69).
