MN: The two most decisive players for Milan during Scudetto run-in

It has been a real team effort from AC Milan this season as they push to win the league title, but two men above all have stood out in the decisive phase.

MilanNews pick out Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao as the ‘two most decisive players of this Milan’. Starting with the former – who arrived to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma last summer – Maignan immediately showed his capabilities with strong performances and leadership.

He has made some errors of course, but many of the positive results Milan have achieved this season his stamp. In 18 out of the 38 games Maignan has played this season in all competitions, he has kept a clean sheet.

Then there is Leao, who has literally exploded to become a fundamental player for this Milan. His dribbles, his accelerations and his end product make him so difficult to deal with, and in 20 of the 41 games played he has notched a goal or an assists.

In total for the Portuguese winger is on 14 goals and 9 assists for this season and now one last effort is required from both players to get over the line. A clean sheet from Magic Mike would be enough for the Scudetto, but one or two goals from Leao could do it too.
