Udinese star admits to being ‘pleased’ by rumours of Milan interest

Udinese striker Beto was asked about AC Milan’s interest in him and admitted that he is ‘pleased’ to hear about the speculation.

It was reported by Il Gazzettino (via AreaNapoli) earlier today that Milan director Paolo Maldini has carried out enquiries over Beto in the last few days to understand the feasibility of the operation ahead of the summer.

The Rossoneri will need to invest in a new centre-forward ahead of the 2023-24 campaign given the age of Olivier Giroud, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s potential retirement and Divock Origi’s disappointing start.

Beto is a profile they know well as he scored one of his nine Serie A goals this season against Stefano Pioli’s side, in the 3-1 win for the Friulians just before the international break.

Beto spoke to TV12 and was asked about the rumours that Milan are interested in signing him ahead of the summer transfer window, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“These rumours are a sign of the good work I’m doing, they please me but I don’t think about it. The market is over, my focus is only on Udinese, where I’m doing well, and on the last 10 games that await us,” he said.
